End of 2009

Margaux’s first calendar year is coming to a close. Its been a fun & exciting year, including milestones, smiles, & laughs.

And here, on the last day of the year, Margaux mastered her walker AND stood alone for the first time!  She loves to tote around this elephant the Utley family gave her for Christmas.

Enjoy these end of the year grins and we’ll be trying to update a LOT more in the new year.

Out on a walk with Ana

Ana is our wonderful nanny that Margaux really seems to enjoy.  She just sent me this sweet photo:

I have lots more to post about including our family reunion last week and TONS of great photos!  Soon I hope!

Lee Family Time

Kirby eats a banana

The whole family has arrived!  Minus my hard-working hubby who will be here tonight.  Its so fun to Kirby!  He was barely a week old when we met.  He’s starting to eat solids and is just such a joy!  Lots more news, photos & videos soon!!

4 Month Appointment

Margaux had her four-month appointment today and she is getting so big!  Her stats are:

  • 15 lbs 5 oz
  • 25″ long
  • 41 cm head circumference

Though the charts vary she is about 85% for both height and weight it looks like.  (Another one I have says 75% weight and 65% height).

Dr. Soloman is totally happy with her growth and development.  He thinks we may have an early walker on our hands based on her love of rolling already.  My Mom just confirmed I walked by about 9 months so its certainly possible.  He said we can start solids anytime we think she’s ready (and said to just watch if she gets really interested in us eating, etc) but he thought realistically between 5-6 months.

We are just happy she’s doing so well!  :-)

Phoenix

Where have we been?  Well I started back to work last week which has actually been just great!  I really like the people, I love the company!  And I’m a huge fan of my current schedule – working M, T, & Th.  Once I feel more settled in I’ll start to work 1 day/week from home.  And then I think it will be fantastic!  It is hard to do the commute and barely see Margaux awake at all on those days I work, but we are figuring it out.  That morning rush is crazy too!

At any rate, last weekend we went to see the Wheats in Phoenix!  Margaux got to see her Ina & Grandad Wheat, meet her cousin Lauren (2 yrs old), and Uncle Ben & Aunt Katie!  We all had a great time and Margaux was a wonderful traveler.  She showed off her rolling skills by proving you can’t leave her on her back for more than a few seconds.

I have only a few photos.  Here is one where Lauren first warmed up to Margaux by giving her a welcome kiss:

Here is a direct Wheat Family line: Nana, Carrol, Brad, Margaux – pretty cool!

More soon!

Exersaucer

Yesterday Margaux tried out an exersaucer for the first time (while we were at playgroup).  She LOVED it!  I want to go ahead and get one for her even though I think it will still be another week or so before she really understands about putting more pressure on her feet.  She really liked being upright and getting to investigate so many items.  I got an iPhone photo – not great but its better than nothing!

Catching Up

Well lots of news around here! The big one being that Margaux has started sleeping thru the night! Amazing!! :-D She first did this Saturday, May 2 – the night before we left for Texas. And she has (fortunately) continued since. What a big girl!

Speaking of being a big girl, she is growing like a weed! I am really looking forward to her 4-month appointment to see her latest stats.

I have several pictures to post but need to take Brad to the airport for his trip to Dubai.  I’ll leave you with this cute one from Sophie’s 1st Birthday party.

More updates and news from the past week soon!

Grabbing

Margaux has been busy growing this week!  She’s definitely getting bigger (all the time) and has just been such a joy.  This week she really started to grab her toys and seems to be finding her hands more readily, especially to put them in her mouth or push things away.  She’s really a sweet, lovely girl!  We couldn’t be luckier!

Here is a video of her grabbing her elephant.  She had been doing it repeatedly but I just caught her as she got tired unfortunately.  No worries, I still think its cute!  :-)

Also, her adorable yellow outfit came from our friends Julie & Zach.  We think its precious!  Thanks again guys!

Meeting Jared

Last night Margaux and I met Jared at SFO while he had a layover. It was fantastic to see him and Margaux took to him right away. He was a natural with her and is going to be such an awesome Dad in September!
